More pictures from Ekaterinburg, Russia
Jeff is here trying to help me do this blogging stuff. It seems to take so long, but then my computer is as old as the hills and doesn't work that well. I have tried to write beside my pictures to explain some of them but it just wouldn't work.
The picture of the door with the deadbolts is the secure metal door to the mission home where they live. It takes some time to unlock and lock up again but they do feel safe in the apartment building. The picture of the shabby apartment building is what most of them look like in that city. That is not where they live but they are all around the area. Their building is quite nice compared to most.
The old people on the street are out everyday, selling fruit or vegetables. They only buy vegetables and fruit at a corner market close to them, from the same vendor, named Akmed?? who treats Jo really well and is always happy to see her. It's funny because when we arrived at the market, you hear people yelling to him to announce that Jo-Ann is on her way to his stand. You really have to wash things thoroughly before you ever eat them and Aunty Jo usually washes things in a bleach solution.
I took the picture of Aunty Jo the day we arrived and I think she looks so pretty and does look like the President's wife and someone who is serving a mission. I don't know what happened to the picture of Uncle Greg but I will try to post it on another page. We are waiting, like an hour, for pictures to post on this page, but whatever I am tired of waiting.
Photos from my trip to Ekaterineburg, Russia.

We arrived at the airport in Ekat on the 23 June and were met by Jo-Ann and Greg. We were so happy to see them for the first time in a year. They looked great we thought, for all their trips and experiences. One of our first tourist stops was at a Russian Orthodox Church, where you had to cover your head to visit. For sure we look like russian peasants.

This was a busy market street in the center of the city. It looks like this could be anywhere eh? We would sit here in the sun and just watch people, we sure saw some strange sites. We saw the youg people walking around with cell phones and ipods, like they do all around the world. The young girls are mostly very beautiful with very good posture and dress very provocative. They watch MTV over there and get all the fashion magazines from North America, so they seem to emulate what they see I guess.
